|
Today’s excursion brings us to by boat to the island Brac - the third largest island of the Adriatic sea. | |
| The island Brač not only holds the highest mountain of all Adriatic islands (Vidova Gora, 778 m), but is also very well known for it’s chalk-pit. Numerous famous examples of architecture have been built out of lime stone from Brač like for example the White House in Washington. | Brač mainly lives on tourism, fishing and farming (especially vine and olives) and the already mentioned digging of high-quality stone. Bol, a city in the south of the island, is said to be the touristic centre of Brač. Nearby you find the famous golden horn, pretended to be the most beautiful beach of Croatia. | | |
